Remember last spring when I was super stoked about a time travel romance called The River of No Return
Why am I writing this post on a book I haven’t read yet? Only because I want to share FREE STUFF with you! The folks at Plume Books/Penguin Random House have graciously offered a copy of the newly-available-in-paperback The River of No Return to one of YOU lucky readers. As for a time I would like to visit, perhaps 60s/70s America so that I could participate in and experience such social change during the civil rights movement. Such interesting times, not too long ago, that we seem to be so far from in some ways already.

Oh, right, and for going back in time: Hmmm. Really really tough call. I like this time quite a bit. Could I travel in space as well as time? I think I’d keep it small — maybe go back in time and meet my great-grandfather. I don’t think he’d freak out, and we could have some awesome conversations about adventure novels.
(Going back in time to meet someone from History that I want to meet seems fraught with peril — it’d be amazing to meet Oscar Wilde, but who even knows if he’d be willing to talk to me? And then it’d be a trip wasted.)

I suppose if I was going to go back in time, I would do something totally sappy and visit my Dad since he’s not with us anymore. I feel like he would be okay with meeting my future self, and I don’t think it would blow too much of a whole in the space/time continuum.

If I could go back in time I would go back about 13 or 14 years and have my twin toddler boys back again for just a little while. Back when they thought I was the greatest thing ever.

This has been on my wishlist since it was published last year, but I have yet to get myself a copy. I think I would travel back to the early 1980’s for the music scene in the U.K. I’m an 80’s baby so missed out on some awesome music (maybe I only think it is awesome from being forced to listen to it by my parents but still!).

There are so many places that would be cool to visit, but I’d miss modern conveniences too much (and I don’t mean like my phone, I mean like toilets). But ignoring practical concerns like that, I’d want to go back and see the Library of Alexandria before it was destroyed. That would be awesome… in the truest sense of the word.

This is weird but I would like to go back to the early 1900’s to be a part of my family then. I love hearing stories of who my great-grandparents were and a lot of what they did has made who my family is now so I would love to be able to experience it first hand with them. I would also time travel with Claire in the Outlander books just so I could swoon over Jamie in real life.

Tough question! I’d love to visit ancient Rome, Greece or Egypt, but it might be better to visit the US in the 1920’s. I was reading a book in that setting, which seemed interesting and also seemed like a pretty decent time for women’s rights.

I’d return to the summer of 1993 in order to myself a do-over. I wouldn’t accept the date invitation from the guy who would become my husband and eventually EX-husband. Boy, oh boy, would things now be markedly different.
